Light is energy released from atoms. Light is an electromagnetic wave. The wavelength ranges from around 400-700 nanometers and depending on how long or short the wavelength's are, some can be longer like radio waves and some shorter like X-rays. We measure wavelengths by seeing how far apart each peaks of waves are. Within the waves, it creates the colors we see, such as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. The colors we do see are just a reflection from the objects we look at.
